Default Suggestions for elementalist pets,events.

Some idears I have for the new update or later:
(i apologise if any of it was already posted, i tryed search in forum, and suggestions thread, but couldn't find the specific topic. If any of the critique is offensive, or not by the forum rules feel free to edit)

-I was thinking... rangers have pets, necros can summon minions...why not give the elementalist a Golem as a pet?I seen the stone summits work together with ICE Golems, so why can't we?seems a fitting pet for an elementalist An idear would be the ele would have to find some rare stones (or ice) somewhere, add a spell or something to it to create the golem. For an earth ele 'stones'=stonegolem, a water could have to aquire 'ice'(schiverpeak mountains?) =icegolem, a fire some lavastones etc...Or a djinn? An ice Djinn or a fire Djinn as pet , but with reduced dmg offcourse hehe. And A monk could have a spirit or something.
-Some more large caves and dungeons,i'd like to step in a house or building.
-I personally don't like the elementalist armor to much but that's me, it seems like a bad attempt of trying to mix something manga'isch' with medieval, i'd like a 'basic' hooded mage robe or something(YES!), i kinda prefered the starter outfit for all it matters.I know the hooded robe is what we see in most games for a mage in the genre but i still like it.
-I think the lastest event updates where a bit cheap (kinda without the same carefull taste the game was done, like quick done, like we have to make something fast for the event' i'm sorry my vieuw on it), yes it's fun to see something new and some of it was fun,i liked the events, but a part of it seemed a bit of trying to mix something of the real world with a medieval world thats not fitting for it.Like in the christmas event update, the whole idear of the grenths vs. the dwaynas i dunno, the face on the moon in thombs for halloween, the big pots...the sudden big candycanes in LA ...Wouldn't it have been some more fitting in the lore of the game if instead of Christmas, a similar event, like a dwarf/humans event would take place in same time as Christmas?like the dwarfs or humans would have a date When a prophet of dwayna died, or a great dwarf that died in battle.Similar to Christmas.I saw a dwarf say in Droks saysomething like:"Can anyone tell me why we have this event?, i wouldn't know why" seems like someone got it.Or at least keep it a bit more realistic and medieval, just a suggestion.
-a roleplaying server,(but i know that already got posted).

Well, most other "mages", as you call them, in other games/whatever are old men...

I don't know about you, but I don't wanna play with a character that looks like gandalf the weird...

Plus, as all characters are kinda young and beautiful, why hide behind a robe?

THe one thins I agree with your post is the elementalists armor. Not so keen on it IMO.
However, mentioning the golems gave me an idea.
Keep the armor we have already, but make this change or available for a later chapter: Golem armor.
When in town, the armor you currently have is shown, but when out of town, or make it a spell if you wish, the armor changes to that of a golem. In essance, your charchter hovers inside or complete changes the outward look to that of a golem
Ice Golem Shards, rock shards, crystal shards...each one has its strengths and weaknesses.
I know there are skills that give defense against elements and physical damage for elementalist. This is more of a graphical version of showing the skill if you will.
I lean towards spell since it will be better to choose the type of def/offense benefit you want from it.

I don't mind the way the armor looks. Although if they had some kind of hooded robe that'd be alright with me too. I do wish that there were more spells besides the 2 earth and 2 water armors.
On the Golem idea..I like it allot. I used to play DAoC years back and they had class that created air, earth and I believe fire golems. I think incorporating that would be great. Like you say, some kind of material component....some type of lodestone(s) would be needed to activate the spell and then you can have your new buddy help you pound on the opposition.

About the 'golem', we could able to charm them yes, just as rangers do,would need only one skill as with the ranger pet, i don't see rangers complaining that much about that one skill you have to keep in you're skillbar to have the pet .That's one option to the idear, another way would be to be able to 'summon' them like necros in some way, 'or' to make them with the particular stones as i mensioned and use them for a while or something. As i'm writing this i was thinking a simple owl would be cool to, as most 'mages' and 'witches' in the old stories have them.

About the robe, offcourse we can keep the old, if was thinking of a new armor. You wouldn't have to look as Gandalf the Great, and old Gandalf has this stupid oversized hat if i remember correctly I never said u'd have to have gray hair, why would that be?And hide? Its not about hiding, does a warrior with cooking pot on the head mean he's hiding? You could choose between having the hood up or down,(bit like a Jedi)I like basics, all a matter of taste.

I like the elementalist armour, well at least the pyromancer one anyway. However I would love to see some big hooded robes or something. Also a "familiar" since traditionally wizards and mages have some sort of a pet a familiar as they call them would be cool, maybe not a golem or something but a crow that could fly around and distract enemies if too much aggro is on the elementalist.

Ele's should get a familiar that has exactly the same stats as the headpiece and replaces it, rather than getting those stupid looking eyes...

Well, from the article, it seems Necros get Golems, or at least Flesh Golems...
Anyway, I'm not signing since
A) Minions are Necro only
B) Pets are Ranger only
C) I can't see the attribute line for the elemental golems...would be alligned to all elements (since there are Ice, Air and Stone Golems, no fire golems...yet) or Energy storage, and the last makes them useless to anything except Ele primary

I don't like the idea of an Elementalist being a mage or witch.

Elementalists are just... Elementalists. I think the new Ritualist is more like a mage. And I like the armor of the Elementalist, I've seen enough robes and hoods etc. Guild Wars owns because it's original.

And you shouldn't complain about the updates. Be happy that the developers even do the updates, not to mention that they are free.

I DO like the Golem idea, to use a skill near water to create an ice golem, a Sand Golem near sandy areas or an Earth Golem near normal ground (like a basic)... However the Fire and Wind attributes are still open then :/

- Pet and Minion and Spirit type of skill should only be exlusive for a certain class. Else all class will have a version of of similar skill. Maybe just have a summoner new class... or cross with a ritualist...

- More indoor is good... but I think the GW's engine only support large space... so most likely will see big halls with talll roof.

- Armor Design is more or less a personal perfrence... I think some does look too anime-ish.. but some does look pretty good. Again, A.net is trying to be more none-traditional.

- X mas update? Well.. its almost a norm now that all MMO have some sort of Holiday Update. There is not escaping. Since it is an online game, there bound to be some corss over from real life, else you could try to play a True RP MUD or a single player RPG. It is set in a fantasy world afterall.

- Sure. They could keep the holiday event out of the RP server.

Necros get minions and rangers get pets but in elementalists/mages typically have familiars or the like. However I wouldn't like the idea, too many companions running around.

As for the "Christmas" theme? It wasn't christmas, it was "wintersday" and nicely tailored to Grenth v. Dwayna.

the golem idea would be nice, and there should be one golem of each attribute type. the concept of the golem i agree, but if any Anet ppl see this, that's their consideration on how to deliver the golem to the game.

/signed.

What about this?

Flame Dijinni
Description: You summon a Flame Dijinni that last for 12...36 seconds that strike for 5...24 flame damage per strike. This spell causes Exhaustion.
Energy Cost: 20.
Casting Time: 5 seconds.
Recharge Time: 60 seconds.
Linked Attribute: Fire Magic. Increases damage.
Skill Type: Spell.

Flame Dijinni will have slow attack speed (that of hammer), and its own hp (similar to that of Ranger Sprit). They are also pretty small in size (smaller than pets) and float in air.

have you ever thought that ranger dps/necro dps is already calculated with the pet included and so bringing a pet into the ele line would prolly require a nerf into there dps?
